Technical characteristics and development prospects of filter cartridge dust col

DATE:2016-12-10
In the dust removal industry, bag filters have been the main force since their application in the 1880s. In recent years, filter cartridge dust collectors have begun to have an impact on the status of bag filters due to their superior performance.

Technical characteristics of filter cartridge dust collector: Compared with bag filter, filter cartridge dust collector has the following features: (1) higher dust removal efficiency. For general micron sized dust removal efficiency, some filter cartridges with strong processing capabilities (such as Donaldson series Ultra Web filter media) can also achieve this efficiency or even higher for dust with a particle size of 0.5 μ m; (2) The resistance is relatively small. For ordinary powders, the resistance of the filter cartridge dust collector is less than 1000Pa, and for powders with strong adhesion, the resistance is generally around 1500Pa; (3) The inlet concentration range is wide. Ordinary polyester filter cartridges or foldable filter cartridges can handle airflow with high inlet dust concentration, with a dust concentration of up to 250g/m3; (4) The filtering wind speed range is wide. Filter cartridges made of different materials have different filtration speeds. The filtration wind speed of a general bag filter is around 1m/min, while the filtration wind speed of a paper filter cartridge is 0.3m/min lower and the filtration wind speed of a pleated filter cartridge is 2.4m/min higher; (5) Water washing performance. Except for paper filter media, other filter cartridges such as polyester filter cartridges and membrane filter cartridges can generally be cleaned with water and can be reused after drying; (6) Relatively compact layout, space saving, and easy maintenance. The filter cartridge dust collector has broad development prospects. In the dust removal industry, bag filters have been the main force since their application in the 1880s. In recent years, filter cartridge dust collectors have begun to affect the status of bag filters due to their superior performance. The filter cartridge dust collector is a new type of dust collector produced by Donaldson Company in the 1980s based on bag filters. It uses a new type of filter cartridge as the filter material, which has the advantages of high efficiency, low resistance, simple maintenance and management, small volume, large filtration area per unit volume, compact structure, and convenient replacement of filter cartridges. It is currently widely used in various industries. With the continuous development of dust removal technology, especially the emergence of new filter materials, the efficiency and economy of filter cartridge dust collectors have begun to rely on traditional bag filters, which have broad development prospects. The filtration mechanism of filter cartridge dust collector: The filtration mechanism of filter media mainly includes interception effect, gravity effect, inertia effect, diffusion effect, electrostatic effect, etc. Interception effect: The arrangement inside the filter material is intricate and intertwined, with a small average pore size. Particles larger than the pore size of the filter material cannot be intercepted through the gaps between the filter layers. Gravity effect: Large particles of dust have a high gravity and may settle directly without passing through the filter material, or particles attached to the filter material may agglomerate and experience increased gravity, causing them to detach from the filter material after vibration. Inertia effect: Powder particles move with the airflow, and the airflow encounters obstacles and detours. Dust deviates from the direction of the airflow due to inertia and collides with the filter layer, and is collected. The larger the particles, the stronger the inertia force, and the greater the possibility of being filtered out. Diffusion effect and electrostatic effect: Fine dust collides with the filter layer, and the attraction between the dust and the surface of the filter material causes it to stick to the filter material and be filtered out. Particles with smaller diameters undergo Brownian motion and collide with each other. Small particles collide with each other or are charged by friction with the filter material, attracting and capturing the particles. Large particle dust is mainly dominated by the first few filtration mechanisms, while smaller particle sizes are mainly used by the latter few. Multiple filtering mechanisms work simultaneously, so that most of the dust will be filtered out, and the dust removal efficiency of the dust collector will also be higher.
